Leeds enlist the help of Artificial Intelligence

Leeds United have followed in Liverpool’s footsteps by enlisting Artificial Intelligence to help aid their injury problems and not repeat the woes of last season, as per LeedsLive.

Liverpool, Rangers and Valencia are in the list of a number of clubs to use the latest technology widely used in the NFL and Premiership Rugby.

The Whites have signed up to Zone7 an American company which uses an Artificial Intelligence driven human performance platform, designed to help athletes reduce the risk of injury and to help avoid lengthy spells on the side lines.

‘The algorithm works by analyzing player data on the field and off it, with training and matchday information being used as well as biometric, strength, sleep, and stress levels, in order to identify undetected risk patterns and create real-time injury threat alerts . It also works to provide coaches with intervention methods, with data showing it has helped to reduce injury rates by as much as 50 per cent at other football clubs’

This will come as great news to Leeds fans and after all the injury problems they had last season, they will be willing to try anything if it keeps their stars on the pitch. Whether it was the training or the physical demands put on the players, it will be interesting to see if they can keep players fitter for longer periods this time around.

As Leeds missed key players in crucial areas for long periods of the season, they will be hoping this new technology will help Jesse Marsch utilise his squad with greater effect and keep key players in the starting line-up.

Up Next: Leeds have no intention of letting star leave.
