The Poco F4 5G smartphone’s India launch is on the horizon. The handset’s Indian variant has appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking website. Poco is preparing to unveil its F4 series smartphones. The lineup will go official in multiple regions including India. Notably, the smartphone company disclosed some key details about the smartphone before its launch. Poco confirmed that the 5G-ready phone will pack Snapdragon 870 SoC in India.
The vanilla F4 5G will come with the same processor in other markets as well. The Poco F4 5G India launch could take place later this month. To recap, the F4 5G was certified by NBTC in Thailand in March. This is a sign that the handset will launch globally soon. Meanwhile, the handset has arrived on the Geekbench website. The F4 5G will be a premium offering from Poco for the Indian market. Now, the Indian variant of the smartphone has been spotted on a Geekbench listing.
The listing confirms the presence of the Snapdragon 870 SoC. As per Poco, the SD 870 is the most optimized Snapdragon 800 series chipset. The processor offers 3.19GHz of peak clock speed. Further, the phone will come with an Adreno 650 GPU. Also, the listing suggests that the Indian variant will have 12GB of RAM. This model could offer a hearty 256GB of onboard storage as well. Poco India could launch an 8GB RAM model of the F4 5G. This variant could ship with 128GB of internal storage. Moreover, the smartphone runs Android 12 out of the box.
Poco F4 5G Arrives On Geekbench Before India Launch
There will be a layer of MIUI 13 on top of the Android OS. Now, Poco F4 5G scored 978 in the single-core Geekbench test. Likewise, it bagged 3254 points in Geekbench’s multi-core test. According to a report by TechRadar, the F4 5G will sit below the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G. The word on the street is that the F4 5G will be a rebadged version of the Redmi K40S. If this speculation proves to be true, we already know its specifications. For instance, the Poco F4 5G could sport a 6.67-inch AMOLED display.
Further, the phone’s screen will offer a 120Hz refresh rate. For optics, the 5G-ready phone will probably feature a triple rear camera setup. This rear-mounted camera module could include a 64MP main sensor. Moreover, the primary camera is likely to support OIS. There will be an 8MP ultrawide camera on the back as well. Aside from this, the phone could get a 2MP macro sensor. Upfront, the F4 5G will reportedly feature a 20MP shooter. This front-mounted camera will come in handy for capturing selfies.
